Thoracoscopy
Thoracoscopy
Thoracoscopy (medical thoracoscopy or pleuroscopy) is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine and take biopsies from the pleural space—the area between the lungs and chest wall. It is performed under local anesthesia or light sedation. Dr. Piyu Jain uses thoracoscopy for diagnosing unexplained pleural effusion, pleural tuberculosis, and suspected pleural malignancy. It provides excellent visual access and high diagnostic accuracy.
